SISO and CAF Host First Ever Adaptive Sailing Clinics for Challenged Athletes
Physically challenged athletes in Idaho have added a new sport to their repertoire - sailing - thanks to a recent partnership between the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) and SISO.
With the support of CAF, ten SISO sailing instructors took part in an adaptive sailing course offered by US Sailing. Our instructors learned about the use of specialized equipment and techniques for teaching sailing to physically challenged athletes. Following this training, SISO offered two Adaptive Sailing Clinics to challenged athletes: Lucky Peak Reservoir in Boise (August 4-5) and CJ Strike Reservoir near Mountain Home (September 18-19). SISO is profoundly grateful to be serving the CAF community.
